The Continuing Competency Program is a secure, confidential, and interactive online process. Practitioners may evaluate, maintain, and improve their level of knowledge and skill in areas relevant to the delivery of patient care. The program effectively ensures that practitioners are accountable for the quality of care provided to Albertans.
Benefits to the Practitioner
- Participation meets competency requirement K1 - Knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Competency Profile;
- Self-assessment enables practitioners to identify personal learning needs and establish individual learning plans to maintain and enhance competence;

- Practitioners will be competent at the time of initial registration and remain competent throughout their careers;
- The Alberta Occupational Competency Profiles content and self-assessment process were created by practitioners through a consensus process. The Continuing Competency Program will maintain and strengthen professional consensus about expected levels of competency;
